The old man lay on the bed listening to Christmas carols.
During a pause in the music, he asked, “What’s the date?”
A robotic female voice replied through the speaker standing on the bedside table, “Today is December twenty-five 2022.”
The man said, “Is anyone coming to see me today?”
You don’t have visitors.”
Is that because of the Covid restrictions?”
The Covid-19 pandemic officially ended August twenty-eight 2022.
Then, why does no one come?”
Your date of death is recorded as August twenty-seven 2022.
Tears filled the old man’s eyes as the music resumed.
